Disrupt the Horn

I have thought about automobile and vehicle horns a lot since I started driving. Has there ever been a better example of the human race trying to fit every moment, every message, every emotion into one single monotone, blunt force instrument than the horn?

"Could you please just move forward a couple of inches so I can get by?" HOOONNKKK. The car ahead of you... hands waving and perhaps an elevated middle finger.

"Hi! It's me! One of your best friends!" as you see your high school bud passing on the other side of the road. HOOONNNKK. The car ahead of you... hands waving and perhaps an elevated middle finger.

You get the point.

If the car companies won't innovate so that we can safely and effectively communicate between nearby vehicles, I hope somebody on the outside does.

Road rage is still in need of therapy, and technology, not the doctor's couch, is likely the solution.
