Moving Beyond Picket Signs...
Did you know that 92% of hourly workers aren’t on Linked In and 2/3 don’t have resumes? How often do you think about the massive income gap in the US today?
Low-wage workers represent over half the workforce in the U.S. and the big problem is that they don’t get the information they need to move up. So, they get stuck, barely able to make ends meet, without a path forward. In their most difficult moments, they turn to picket signs, cowbells, and inflatable rats to demand better pay and treatment in the workplace. These things haven’t worked very well.
Enter Worthee. We’re building a technology platform that gives low-wage workers the information they need to improve. That’s the same information that white-collar earners take for granted. The same information that allowed them to get richer than ever in the past 40 years while real income for low wage workers didn’t budge.
Our beachhead focus at Worthee is a robust, real-time performance measuring tool. We’ve developed an app that re-invents the performance review by providing a safe space for sharing and receiving real-time feedback to and from coworkers, bosses and employers. With this information, for the first time, low wage workers know where they stand and have a voice.
(This is a draft elevator pitch... for a long elevator ride, obviously 😀)
